Hanoi (VNA) – The Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park must serve as the country’s hub for hi-tech workforcetraining, said Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan during her visit to the Hanoi-based park onNovember 23.

Ngan hailed itas an incubator for the development of hi-tech projects and an ideal destinationfor both domestic and foreign investors.

It has becomea base for multiple international conglomerates, such as Hanwha Aerospace (theRepublic of Korea), Nidec and Nissan Techno (Japan) and major domestic groups,including Vingroup, FPT, VNPTand Viettel, she said.

Ngan asked theMinistry of Science and Technology to improve the hi-tech park’s capacity interms of infrastructure and business environment and to remove obstacles andcreate the best conditions for R&D and technology transfer in Vietnam so that the park would be aplace where innovative ideas and hi-tech products are initiated.

It will helpraise the economy’s productivity, efficiency and competitiveness, theChairwoman added.

Ngan alsourged businesses and investors at the park to create more high quality made-in-Vietnamproducts while the park’s management board must find ways to attract skilledmanpower and to make the park a friendly and prestigious destination fortechnological firms and scientists at home and from overseas.

NA ChairowmanNguyen Thi Kim Ngan witnessed the signing of a strategic deal between thepark’s management board and the Viettel Military Industry and TelecomGroup and the presentation ofdecisions on investment plans of four projects, including the VinSmart Researchand Manufacture JSC, Mediplantex JSC, A&A Green Phoenix Group JSC and HulkEnergy JSC.

The Hoa LacHi-tech Park, the first and largest of its kind in Vietnam, covers a total area of approximately1,600 hectares on the outskirts of Hanoi. It was founded under the Ministry ofScience and Technology.

The park ishome to 90 projects which have a combined registered investment of over 85.8trillion VND (nearly 3.7 billion USD). Three major projects, worth nearly 7 trillion VND (296 millionUSD), have landed in the park thisyear./.
