Hoa Lac hi-tech park envisioned to become smart sci-tech hub: minister
Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat has laid stress on the Party and Government’s policy of building Hoa Lac hi-tech park into a smart ecosystem for science-technology development, contributing to the national socio-economic development.
Hanoi (VNA) – Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat haslaid stress on the Party and Government’s policy of building Hoa Lac hi-techpark into a smart ecosystem for science-technology development, contributing tothe national socio-economic development.
At a conference held by the park’s management board on December 30, Dat saidthe park’s development needs mechanism and policy support from competentagencies of the National Assembly and Government, as well as coordination of relevantorganisations.
To become attractive to both domestic and foreign hi-tech projects, the parkshould sharpen its focus on improving its organisational structure, studyingmeasures to welcome new investment flow as foreign firms are shifting theirbusiness to Vietnam, promoting cooperation with universities in training andtechnology transfer, as well as enhancing international cooperation.
Dat highlighted that all of the investment projects should be carried out inline with the Party’s guidelines.
Hoa Lac hi-tech park, established in 1998 under the Ministry of Science andTechnology, is the first and largest of its kind in Vietnam. It covers a totalarea of approximately 1,600 hectares on the outskirts of Hanoi.
After a long time of development, the park has welcomed large investmentprojects from prestigious investors such as Vingroup, Viettel, VNPT, FPT andHanwha, among others.
On the day, the park’s management board presented investment plans to Ha TayPharmaceutical JSC’s project which is capable of turning out nearly 5 billion tonnes of product per year, and theNGS software development centre which is developed by NGS Telecommunication& Equipment JSC./.
The Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park must serve as the country’s hub for hi-tech workforce training, said Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan during her visit to the Hanoi-based park on November 23.
The Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, based in Hanoi, has to date attracted 90 projects with total registered capital amounting to 85.8 trillion VND (3.7 billion USD).
Politburo member Vuong Dinh Hue, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, made a working trip to the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park on July 10 with the aim of removing bottlenecks for the park to welcome a new wave of investment.
VietNEST (Vietnamese Nurturing Education for Science & Traditions) is a mobile app and digital platform for Vietnamese language learning among overseas children.

The visit aimed to assess the new two-tier local government model, preparations for upcoming Party congresses at levels, and implementation of the Politburo’s Conclusion on school construction in border areas.
Under the theme “Breakthrough Era with the Development of Industrial Internet”, the event gathered over 400 delegates, including senior officials, leading Internet experts, and technology engineers from Vietnam and abroad.
