The northern province of Hoa Binh plans to raise its import-export value to more than 1.4 billion USD in 2019, of which exports are expected to contribute 790 million USD.
Hoa Binh (VNA) – The northern province of Hoa Binh plans to raise itsimport-export value to more than 1.4 billion USD in 2019, of which exports areexpected to contribute 790 million USD.
Accordingto Pham Tien Dung, director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade,local export earnings in February alone reached 53.7 million USD, bringing thetotal export figure for the year’s first two months to 107.9 million USD, up15.02 percent from the same period last year and equivalent to 13.66 percent ofthe annual target.
Dung saidthat in order to achieve the 2019 goal, the provincial trade and industrysector will focus on reforming administrative procedures; attracting investment;and stepping up the building, development, and registration of nationaltrademarks and key export staples.
It willalso increase trade promotion activities and introduce agricultural products topotential markets, capitalise on signed free trade agreements, and removehurdles to facilitate local enterprises and projects, he added.
In 2018,Hoa Binh’s import-export turnover exceeded 1.1 billion USD. –VNA
