Hanoi (VNA) –
The Ho Chi MinhMausoleum in Hanoi will be reopened for visitors to pay tribute to the late Presidenton December 5 after more than three months of repair.

The information was revealed at a workingsession between Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the management board of themausoleum in the capital on December 3.

Major General Nguyen Van Cuong, head of themausoleum’s management board, reported that the crucial task of this year is toupgrade a number of important facilities in service of the best preservation ofthe body of late President Ho Chi Minh.

As of November 2017, more than 2.2 millionpeople visited the mausoleum, including over 504,000 foreigners, a year-on-yearrise of 11-12 percent, he cited.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc appreciated themanagement board’s efforts to quickly accomplish the upgrade.

He requested the board to build measures toensure absolute safety and security for the mausoleum and agencies in thecentre of Ba Dinh political area.

The PM asked the Hanoi People’s Committee tosoon improve the road from Thang Long boulevard to K9 historical relic site toattract more visitors.

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is an important landmarkof Hanoi capital city and stands integrated to the political and social historyof Vietnam. After his death on September 2, 1969, Ho Chi Minh was embalmedand put for view in this granite mausoleum. The mausoleum, modelled afterLenin's tomb in Moscow, was built in two years, from 1973 to 1975, withmaterials donated by people from all over the country.-VNA
