Ho Chi Minh City’s retail revenue down in June

HCM City (VNA)– The total retail sales of goods and consumer services in Ho Chi Minh City in Junewas estimated at over 81.4 trillion VND (3.53 billion USD), down nearly 8percent month-on-month and 5.1 percent year-on-year, reported the municipalStatistics Office.

The office attributedthat to social distancing measures in Go Vap district and Thanh Loc ward, District 12, resultingin limited retail activities.

Specifically, retailrevenue topped 48.3 trillion VND (2.1 billion USD), down 4.7 percent monthlyand up 1.9 percent yearly.

Revenue from diningand lodging services slumped by 20 percent and 25 percent, respectively.

Tourism receiptsreached 80 billion VND, down 71.5 percent monthly and 18.4 percent yearly.

However, the totalretail of goods and services still went up 7.3 percent annually to more than541.6 trillion VND in the first six months of this year.
