At the signing ceremony, Chairman of themunicipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong said the 23-day Ho Chi MinhCity - Geyeongju World Cultural Expo 2017 attracted more than 12,000 Korean visitorswith music performances, cultural and trade promotion activities, boostingrelations between the two peoples on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.
He added that the move will facilitate tiesacross economy, culture and education between the two localities, believingthat authorities of Gyeongsangbuk will issue policies to encourage local firmsto invest in the city.
Governor of Gyeongsangbuk Kim Kwan-yong expressedhis belief that the two localities will have many new opportunities forsustainable development in the future, thereby strengthening ties between thetwo nations.
Ho Chi Minh City has so far signedcooperation agreements with 48 localities in countries worldwide, six of them inthe RoK.-VNA
Authorities from HCM City and Gyoengsangbuk province of the Republic of Korea met on December 2 to discuss preparations for the World Culture Festival, which will be organised by Gyoengsangbuk in the Vietnamese city.
The co-organisation board of the Ho Chi Minh City – Gyeongju International Cultural Festival 2017 made its debut at a ceremony held by authorities of the Vietnamese city and Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on February 21.
Representative office of the RoK’s Daejeon city, inaugurated in HCM City on June 13, will make significant contributions to promoting cooperation between the two cities, especially in the fields of Daejeon’s strengths like high technology and smart city construction.
