Ho Chi Minh City: October’s CPI up 0.63 percent

– Ho Chi MinhCity’s consumer price index (CPI) in October increased 0.63 percent compared tothat of September and 4.13 percent year on year.

According to the municipal StatisticsOffice, eight out of the 11 commodity groups enjoyed rises, with the highestgrowth of 12.04 percent seen in medicines and health care services.

It was followed by culture, entertainmentand tourism (0.66 percent), transport (0.64 percent), housing and constructionmaterials (0.44 percent), food and catering services (0.18 percent), equipmentand home appliances (0.16 percent), goods and other services (0.1 percent), andgarment, headwear and footwear (0.06 percent).

In the contrary, the price of beverage andtobacco dropped by 0.01 percent.

Meanwhile, the prices of telecommunicationsand education remained unchanged.

In October, the gold price fell by 0.03percent, while that of US dollar down 0.01 percent month-on-month.-VNA
