HDBank chosen for education project

The State Bank of Vietnam has instructed HDBank to provide banking services for the Second Upper Secondary Education Sector Development Programme funded by the Asian Development Bank.

HCM City (VNA) - The State Bank ofVietnam has instructed the Housing Development Commercial Joint Stock Bank, orHDBank, to provide banking services for the Second Upper Secondary EducationSector Development Programme funded by the Asian Development Bank.

The project, which began in 2012 and will rununtil December next year, aims at improving the quality of education to ensurethat graduates have the skills to meet the country’s labour needs.

It is being implemented in 25 provinces andcities.

HDBank has been appointed as the nodal bank formany international and ODA-funded projects.

In 2016 it represented the Ministry of Financeto re-lend ODA loans worth 3 trillion VND (132.18 million USD) provided by theJapan International Cooperation Agency for the second phase of the Nhon Trach watersupply project in Dong Nai province.

As of last year HDBank had provided bankingservices for six projects funded by bilateral and multilateral ODA loans worthmore than 500 million USD.

It is among the 10 largest banks in the countrywith a network of 220 branches and 3,000 transaction spots.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
