HCM City (VNA) – Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party CommitteeNguyen Thien Nhan on September 1 led a delegation to pay tribute to latePresident Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Museum – city branch on the occasionof 73rd National Day (September 2).

The delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister Truong HoaBinh, laid a wreath at the late leader’s statue on Nguyen Hue walking street.

Earlier, on August 31, a delegation of the Party CentralCommittee, State, National Assembly, Government and Vietnam Fatherland FrontCentral Committee paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleumin Hanoi.

The delegation included Party General Secretary Nguyen PhuTrong, President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, NationalAssembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and President of the VietnamFatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man, along with a number offormer Party, State and Government leaders.

The delegation also laid flowers at the Monument for HeroicMartyrs on Bac Son street.

On the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc offeredincense to commemorate the late President at House 67 in the presidentialhistorical relic site in Hanoi.

President Ho Chi Minh led the Vietnamese nation to successin the struggle for national independence.

On September 2, 1945, he read the Declaration ofIndependence, declaring to the world the foundation of the Democratic Republicof Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The late President was a talented leader, a national herowho devoted all his life to the national independence and freedom and happinessof the people while tirelessly striving for peace and progress in the world.

House 67 in the Presidential Palace is where President HoChi Minh lived, worked and passed away. It provides a venue for the PoliticalBureau’s meetings during the fiercest years of the Vietnam war.-VNA
