HCM City (VNA) – Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho ChiMinh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen hosted a reception on March 28 forChairman of the Lao National Assembly’s Justice Committee KhamphengVilaphanh.
Nen said the exchange of experience in supervisionover judicial affairs and the settlement of complaints has contributedto enhancing relations and sentiments between the Vietnamese and LaoParties, countries and people.
Despite the complex and unpredictable regional andinternational situation, and the COVID-19 pandemic, the bilateral relationship haskept growing, with increasing political trust, he said.
Nen highlighted thesuccess of the Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam Friendship Year 2022 marking the 60th founding anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties and 45 years of the signing of theTreaty of Amity and Cooperation between the two countries.
HCM City has also organised many visits to Laos,aiming to promote cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, trainingand health care, he continued.
Municipal leaders are delighted at socio-economicachievements Laos has recorded over the past years, and believed that under theleadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the Lao people will overcomeall difficulties to gain greater successes in national construction and defence,he said.
The city stands ready to try its best to continue promotingthe friendship and great solidarity between the two countries, Nen affirmed.
For his part, Khampheng noted with pleasure thefruitful development of the relations between the two Parties, States andpeople, and his hope for more support and cooperation from HCM City,especially in law-making and judicial supervision.
Laos will make all-out efforts, together with Vietnam,to strengthen the bilateral relationship, he pledged.
Later on the same day, Khampheng held talks with Chairwomanof the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Le, during which they shared experiencein the supervision work in the fields of justice and complaint settlement./.
