HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi MinhCity’s Youth Union launched its 16th Ky Nghi Hong (PinkHoliday) Campaign with an estimated 3,000 participants on July 9  at YouthCulture House in District 1.

The annual campaign, which lasts until August 13, is expected toattract more than 50,000 youths and workers in the city.

Participants have been assigned to different areas in the country,including the city’s suburban districts, the South, central and CentralHighlands regions, and localities in Laos and Cambodia.

Its activities include improvements for rural residents; repairingand building charity houses; donating essentials to those in need; undertakingfree health exams and treatments; and providing basic knowledge on agricultureand household’s electric system.

On the first day of the launch, more than 1,000 people took partin blood donations.

Volunteers have already begun building houses and roads, and havehanded out presents and scholarships to poor students.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
