HCM City set to train Lao students

Ho Chi Minh City is willing to train students from Laos ’ Xieng Khoaung province to help it develop its human resources, a municipal leader said.

Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee,received Somkot Mangnomek, Governor of the Xieng Khoaung province onNov. 23.

He also expressed his willingness to share information and development experiences with the Lao province.

“HCM City will do its utmost to cooperate and assist Laolocalities,” said Quan, who is also a Party Central Committee member andVice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee.

The XiengKhoaung official thanked HCM City for its practical supply of cowand goat varieties and training of human resources for his locality.

Since 2008, HCM City and the Saigon Invest Group have invested in Xieng Khoaung province.

SomkotMangomek, who is also Secretary of the provincial Party Committee,affirmed that the Lao locality has always been interested in investmentcooperation with Vietnam .

So far, Xieng Khoaung hasestablished sisterhood ties with the central province of Nghe Anand the northern mountainous province of Son La. It also plans to bepaired with the Mekong delta province of Vinh Long./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
