HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City will prioritiseseven transport projects as part of its smart urban programme during the2021-2025 period.

The projects aim to apply technologies in urbanmanagement in the southern metropolis.

Of the projects, six are expected to use the city’sbudget with total funding of 851 billion VND (37.1 million USD), and the otheris worth about 5.7 trillion VND from other sources.

To implement such projects, the municipal People’sCommittee has assigned the Department of Transport to coordinate with the Departmentof Information and Communications, the Department of Home Affairs and relevantagencies to raise proposals regarding human resources development in order tobring into full play achievements of the fourth Industrial Revolutionin smart urban management.

The committee also asked relevant units to continuerolling out smart urban projects under the project on building HCM City into anurban area during 2017-2020 period, with a vision towards 2025./.
