HCM City pledges to support Iranian businesses

Ho Chi Minh City commits to creating favourable conditions for Iranian enterprises to cooperate with partners in the city, and run long-term business in the Vietnamese southern metropolis, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan told visiting Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Ali Ardeshir Larijani on April 17.

HCMCity (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City commits to creating favourableconditions for Iranian enterprises to cooperate with partners in the city, andrun long-term business in the Vietnamese southern metropolis, Secretary of themunicipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan told visiting Speaker of the Parliament of Iran AliArdeshir Larijani on April 17.

Nhan stressed that HCM City treasures Iranianpeople’s sentiments towards Vietnam and the city, and stands ready to worktogether with Iran to further the bilateral friendship and cooperation acrossfields, thus bringing pragmatic interests to both sides.

He said the visit to Vietnam by the Iranian toplegislator, which takes place on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties, has contributed to increasingmutual understanding and enhancing relations between Iran and Vietnam, includingHCM City.

For his part, Larijani said Iranian people wereimpressed by Vietnam’s struggle for national liberation and reunification.

TheSpeaker, however, pointed out that economic ties between Vietnam and Iran haveyet to match potential and aspirations of the two countries.

Vietnamand Iran share a lot of similarities, with substantial potential forcooperation, especially in maritime transport, seaport construction, oil andgas, liquefied gas, woodwork and agriculture, he said.

Laudingstrong development and potential of HCM City, the guest urged the city and Iranto step up information sharing and collaboration, particularly in economy.-VNA
