HCM City (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved the opening of three unsubisidised routes for 12-seat electricity-powered buses for the next three years in HCM City.

The city’s People’s Committee is responsible for determining the bus schedules and specific routes.

Every six months, the city will submit evaluation reports of the pilot bus programme to the government. 

PM Phuc has urged the Ministry of Transport to issue regulations to govern the electric-bus operations and instruct the committee on project implementation.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
