HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh🎃 City’s police on April 14 discovered a ring of illegal tobacco smuggling, seizin🐼g more than 900 cartons.
On the morning of the day, Pham Tan Dat, born in 1983 in southern Long An province, was caught red-handed driving a truck carrying 720 cartons of smuggled tobacco.
According to Dat’s statement, the police also arrested Le Thanh Tung, Le Van Tam and Nguyen Thi My Dung for related charges. More than 200 cartons of tobacco were detected at Dung’s house.
This is the third ring discovered by the municipal police in the past month, with nearly 10,000 cartons of all kinds seized.-VNA
