HCM City medical labs obtain global standard

The micro-biology laboratories of Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital and the Preventive Medicine Centre in Ho Chi Minh City have achieved the globally-recognised ISO 15189:2007 standards.

The two facilities received the International Organisation forStandardisation (ISO) accreditation at a ceremony in the city on August6.
They are among six medical labs in Vietnam tohave met the global standards with assistance from the US Centre forDisease Control and Prevention. ISO accreditation willenable health care facilities to improve efficiency and ensurereliable test results, thus enhancing overall health care for patients. The US is now the leading donor for laboratory qualityimprovement activities in Vietnam , with a total provision of 7.5million USD over the past three years.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
