HCM City logistics association comes into being

HCM City (VNA) –The Logistics Association of Ho Chi Minh City has been officially establishedwith its first congress, for the 2021 - 2026 tenure, taking place on September30.

Vice Chairwoman of themunicipal People’s Committee Phan Thi Thang said HCM City views logistics as a main artery of its economy. Given this, the establishment of a logisticsassociation in the city is an urgent need so that it can serve as themouthpiece for local logistics businesses and accompany the city in futurelogistics development projects.

HCM City aims for growthrates of 15 percent and 20 percent in logistics services’ revenue by 2025 and2030, respectively. It looks to raise logistics’ contribution to its grossregional domestic product (GRDP) to 10 percent by 2025 and 12 percent by 2030.

To that end, the southerneconomic hub will focus on three groups of key solutions: forming logisticscentres; applying information technology, setting up a logistics ecosystemearly, and using common data for all enterprises; and striving to become acentre for logistics personnel training and provision in the southern regionand the whole country.

All the above-mentionedsolutions require close cooperation from logistics enterprises, Thang said.

She requested that apart fromdeveloping export and import logistics, businesses and the association shouldpay due attention to the services serving the domestic goods circulation, aswell as the logistics infrastructure for e-commerce./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
