HCM City (VNA) – Deputy Secretary of the Ho ChiMinh City Party Committee Vu Thi Dung on August 17 hosted a reception for Secretary of the Secretariat of theCentral Committee of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Fu Zhenbang.

Dung expressed her belief thatFu’s visit will help deepen the friendship between Vietnam and China as well asbetween the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMYU) and the CYLC.

The official told her guestthat the municipal youth union and the Vietnam Youth Federation’s HCM Citychapter have made noted contributions to the city’s building and development.

The local youth organisationshave launched various activities to encourage young people to take part innational construction, she said, adding that they have also proven their pioneeringrole and responsibility in joint efforts to turn HCM City into a civilised andmodern city during 2015-2020.

For his part, Fu expressed hisimpression on dynamism and creativeness of youths in HCM City, voicing his hopefor more exchanges and cooperation activities between youth unions ofVietnamese and Chinese cities and provinces.

The HCMYU and the CYLC shouldstep up their collaboration to contribute to cultivating the friendship andcomprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, hesaid.

Fu is in Vietnam to attend the18th Vietnam-China youth friendship meeting that officially kicked off in Hanoion August 14.

The meeting is held from August13-19, with main activities taking place in Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Da Nang and HoChi Minh City. 

The meeting has been organised in rotation ineach country since 2000, aiming to realise the common policy of the leaders ofthe two Parties and States on enhancing exchanges between the Vietnamese andChinese people and youths.-VNA
