HCM City (VNA) – HCM City andMie Prefecture of Japan are looking for cooperation opportunities in multiplefields, heard a reception hosted by Vice Chairman of the city’s People’sCommittee Le Thanh Liem for governor of Mie Suzuki Eikei on November 13.

Eikei was heading a delegation of about 100officials and businessmen from Mie to visit HCM City.

The number of Japanese investors doingbusiness in HCM City has risen in recent years, Liem told his guest at themeeting, adding that city authorities have held annual meetings with businessassociations and investors from Japan to help them tackle problems and promoteinvestment in the city.

He vowed that the city will facilitate Japaneseenterprises venturing into long-term projects to bring benefits for both sides.

The official hoped Mie will exchangeexperience with the southern hub in tourism management and expand culturalexchanges and educational cooperation between the two sides, particularlybetween HCM City University of Education and Mie University.

Mie governor Eikei, for his part, gave Lieman overview of the prefecture, saying it is forecast to post the highesteconomic growth in Japan in the future and has strengths in electronics,automobile, and seaport industries.

Mie’s firms appreciate the business climate inVietnam and HCM City and look forward to boosting economic ties and connectivityin tourism, culture and education with the city, he noted. -VNA
