HCM City honours religious volunteers in COVID-19 fight

Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front held a ceremony on September 24 to honour 147 religious volunteers who have completed their tasks of supporting doctors in the front line of the fight against COVID-19 pandemic at COVID-19 treatment hospitals in the city.

HCM City (VNA) - Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front helda ceremony on September 24 to honour 147 religious volunteers whohave completed their tasks of supporting doctors in the front line of the fightagainst COVID-19 pandemic at COVID-19 treatment hospitals in the city.

Addressing the event, Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of theCOVID-19 Intensive Care Hospital, praised the support ofthe volunteers, adding that when the hospital was newly established, the timelypresence of religious volunteers helped the hospital complete its mission ofproviding medical care for patients.

Vice Chairwoman of the city’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee PhanKieu Thanh Huong expressed her gratitude for the volunteers’ contributions tothe pandemic fight, hoping that they will continue joining hands in pandemic prevention andcontrol efforts to make the city soon return to the new normal.
Three more similar events were also held across the city to honour religious volunteers.

Since July 22, nearly 700 volunteers of different religiousgroups have taken part in COVID-19 prevention and control in various hospitalsin Ho Chi Minh City./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
