HCM City honoured with Laos’ noblest order

HCM City (VNA) – TheHo Chi Minh City has received the first-class DevelopmentOrder of the Lao State for its contributions toVientiane capital’s construction and development cause.

Authorised by the Lao Prime Minister, Vientiane Governor Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune presented the order to the municipal authorities at a ceremony on March 29.

In his speech, Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune said the presentation of the noblest order of the Lao State to HCM City marks the special friendship and cooperation between the twocities as well as recognises HCM City’s assistance for Vientiane in particularand Laos in general.

He expressed deep thanks to the HCM City Party Committee, authorities and peoplefor their support for the Lao capital in infrastructure development, financialmanagement and human resources training.

He pledged to preserve and effectively use facilities and projects funded bythe Vietnamese city.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phonghighlighted that the order presentation is an important political milestone inthe friendship and cooperation between HCM City and Lao localities, includingVientiane.

The municipal Party Committee, authorities and people will do their utmost tonurture and further promote the relations between the two cities, he stated.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
