Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of its Commission for Policies and Strategies Tran Luu Quang has been assigned to join the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and its Standing Board, and hold the position of Secretary of the municipal Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 tenure.

HCM City (VNA) - Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of its Commission for Policies and Strategies Tran Luu Quang has been assigned to join the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and its Standing Board, and hold the position of Secretary of the municipal Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 tenure.
According to the Politburo’s decision, announced on August 25, Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, no longer holds the position of Secretary of the municipal Party Committee for the 2020 – 2025 term, as he is assigned as standing member of the Sub-committee for Documents of the 14th National Party Congress.
However, Nen will continue to oversee and direct the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee until the 14th National Party Congress.
ꦯ Quang, born in 1967 in the southern province of Tay Ninh, held various key positions, including: member of the Standing Board of the Tay Ninh provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee; Deputy Prime Minister; Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Economic Affairs; and Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Policies and Strategies./.
