HCM City (VNA) – The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisation – HoChi Minh City chapter held a get-together on November 27 to mark Laos’ 45th National Day.

Congratulating Lao Party, Government and people on theirachievements over the past 45 years, President of the Vietnam-Laos FriendshipAssociation – HCM City chapter Huynh Cach Mang affirmed that Vietnam and Laosare close neighbours which have stood shoulder-to-shoulder through different revolutionaryperiods.

Based on the close relationship between the two countries,the cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities has deepened withdiverse activities.

Mang affirmed that his association will continue doing its utmostto expand Vietnam’s collaboration with Laos so as to nurture the bilateralrelations.

Deputy Consul General of Laos in HCM City Vanxay Xaysenabriefed participants on major achievements that the Lao people have gained overthe past 45 years, affirming that the achievements have been partly attributableto the support of the Vietnamese Party, Government and people.

He pledged to, together with Vietnamese people, exertefforts to maintain and develop the traditional friendship and specialsolidarity between Laos and Vietnam, for the interests of the two peoples andfor peace, cooperation and progress in the region and the world./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
