HCM City friendship walk marks 80 years of Vietnamese diplomacy
Over the past eight decades, Vietnamese diplomacy has always been at the forefront of national defence and development. Its achievements embody the creativity, resilience, and solidarity of the Vietnamese people, underpinning the country’s deeper international integration and growing prestige on the world stage.

HCM City (VNA)🍰 – Close to 2,000 participants joined a 2.5-kilometre friendship walk in Ho Chi Minh City on August 23 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnamese diplomatic service (August 28, 1945 – 2025).
The walk started on Le Duan street and ended at Ben Bach Dang Park, where the city’s International Friendship Symbol is located.
Addressing the event, Pham Dut Diem, Acting Director of the municipal Department of External Relations, said the activity provided not only an opportunity to encourage healthy lifestyles but also a moment to reflect on the proud legacy of Vietnam’s diplomacy and the city’s outstanding external relations achievements.
He stressed that over the past eight decades, diplomacy has remained at the forefront of national defence and development. Its achievements, he noted, embody the creativity, resilience, and solidarity of the Vietnamese people, underpinning the country’s deeper international integration and growing prestige on the world stage./.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son has highlighted the prominent diplomatic achievements of Vietnam, the diplomatic service's contributions to the process of national development over the last eight decades, and its future development orientations.
For years, the Vietnamese community in many countries rarely had the chance to experience Vietnam’s traditional arts and culture actitivies organized by the Vietnam government, except the annual event “Vietnam Day Abroad” that has been organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2010. But the year 2024 marked a turning point.
Over the past 80 years, Vietnam’s diplomacy, shaped by the vision of President Ho Chi Minh and guided by the principles of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), has remained committed to serving the country and its people.
Through the number, people nationwide can report accidents, natural disasters, or other threats, providing details such as the time, location, scope of damage, and requests for support.
Honorary President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Heng Samrin told the VNA reporters in Phnom Penh that the agency has unceasingly developed, becoming a prestigious voice of Vietnam. The deep-rooted and enduring bond between the VNA and AKP has become a vivid symbol for the solidarity and traditional friendship between the two peoples.
The Politburo’s Resolution No.71-NQ/TW on breakthrough development in education and training forms a strategic tripod for rapid and sustainable growth alongside Resolutions No.57-NQ/TW and No.59-NQ/TW on breakthrough development in science – technology, innovation and national digital transformation, and international integration in the new situation.
The urban traffic route, designed with Transit Oriented Development (TOD) in mind, will be developed through a joint venture of key investors including Kita Group, Futa Group, China Design Group, CRRC Chongqing, Arup, A2Z and Kim Long Motors, with financial support from the two private banks – VPBank and TPBank.

The moves were made in response to an appeal from the Vietnam Red Cross Society, marking the 65th anniversary of Vietnam – Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960–2025) and highlighting the enduring solidarity between the two nations.
