Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of the HoChi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong said the southern hub ofVietnam and Finland boast huge cooperation potential while meeting with FinnishAmbassador to Vietnam Kari Kahiluoto on October 26.
Phong highlighted potential for bilateralcooperation in education, clean technology, water treatment, innovationmanagement, and startup ecology building.
HCM City is interested in those areas and wantsforeign businesses, including those from Finland, to invest in the city, hesaid, expressing his hope that the two sides will forge fruitful cooperationprogrammes in the future.
Ambassador Kahiluoto said his country’senterprises are strong in the abovementioned spheres, and he hopes both sideswill enhance ties to tap into potential.
Finland is carrying out many programmes tostrengthen relations with HCM City, including the “Together with Finland”programme as part of the 2017 HCM City Innovation, Startup and EntrepreneurshipWeek from October 23-28, and the Finnish School Day at Ton Duc Thang Universityon October 28-29.
A delegation of Finnish companies is alsoexpected to come to HCM City to seek investment opportunities soon, headded.-VNA
