HCM City (VNA) – The Ho🐠 Chi Minh City Health Department has instructed the building of aprocedure for receiving and curing Zika-infected cases, particularly pregnanton🅷es.
The agency guided the local hospitals, namely Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Tu Du, Hung Vuong,Nhan Dan Gia Dinh, Nhi Dong 1, and the municipal Centre for Preventive Medicine to coordinate in developing a procedure for treating Zika-infected pregnant women in the city.
The Hospital for Tropical Diseases will be in charge of completing the procedure and conducting tests,diagnosis and treatment for Zika infections in accordance with the criteria of the Health Ministry, and reveal test results within 24 hours.
The department urged all local health care facilities to take blood samples for testing, with priority given to pregnant women, and send the samples to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases for testing and diagnosis.
It also noted that healthcare facilities which perform Zika virus screening are allowed to appoint pregnancy ending for Zika-infected cases as instructed by the Health Ministry while ensuring safety for the pregnant women.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Centre for Preventive Medicine, as of November 20, the city had 62Zika-infected cases across 16 out of 24 districts, with Binh Thanh district taking the lead with 13 cases.
