HCM City (VNA) – The Customs Department of Ho ChiMinh City has collaborated with the municipal police to detect three postalconsignments containing nearly 8kgs of meth.

Two of the consignments were sent from false addresses from Portugaland the other, from Germany to a fake destination in Ho Chi Minh City throughinternational postal services, which were claimed as personal gifts.

In this way, the traffickers can still receive the packagesunder the senders’ demands.

The drugs were hidden in different stuffs contained in thecarton packages such as stuffed toys, CD players and shoe bags.

Over the years, HCM City authorities have detected many drugtrafficking cases with large amount. The traffickers take advantages ofloopholes in customs clearance procedures to transport drug.-VNA
