HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City, the largest economic hub insouthern Vietnam, needs from 280,000-300,000 or 300,000-320,000 more jobs in2023, depending on economic growths of the globe and several major countries.

In the first quarter, the figures will be 72,000-79,000 or79,000-87,000, according to the Centre for Forecasting Manpower Needs and LabourMarket Information (FALMI).

Recruitment demands focus on the service sector, with57.69%, and industries, 20.31%.

This year, the city’s labour force is more than 4.8 millionpeople, accounting for more than half of its population. Of the total, morethan 2.2 million are female, making up 46.17%.

In terms of qualifications, the demand for labourers holdinga bachelor’s degree or higher will account for 38%.

The number of trained and skilled workers to be employedaccounts for 85.78%, of whom 20.19% hold Bachelor's degrees./.
