Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi’s police said onJanuary 10 that they have decided to prosecute the recent disturbance case inDong Tam commune, My Duc district, on the charges of “murder”, “illegallystoring and using weapons” and “resisting on-duty officials”.
These decisions have been sent to the HanoiPeople’s Procuracy for approval.
The incident erupted in the morning ofJanuary 9 in Dong Tam commune, where some units of the Ministry of NationalDefence and competent forces are building protective walls around Mieu Monairport, according to the Ministry of Public Security.
A number of rioters, armed with grenades, petrolbombs and other weapons, attacked those working at the construction site, theministry said.
Three police officers and one rioter were killedduring the incident, while another rioter was injured.
The ministry said relevant units arrested theserious law violators for punishment in line with law.
The competent units are continuing to build thewalls at the Mieu Mon airport./.
All the land in the Mieu Mon airfield, the focus of a land dispute in Hanoi a few months ago, is defence land and has been used for defence purposes by military units, the Hanoi inspectorate said on July 24.
