Hanoi, Vientiane youths promote cooperation

The Hanoi chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held talks with the Vientiane chapter of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union on April 8 in Hanoi to discuss future cooperation activities and exchanges.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Secretary ofthe Vientiane youth union committee Soumaly Thammavong spoke highlyof young Hanoians’ voluntary services in Vientiane over the past sixyears.

Hanoi youths expect to intensify voluntaryactivities in the Lao city this July, focusing on providing free healthcare services, transfering agricultural techniques and distributinglearning equipment.

Besides, both cities’ youth unionsagreed to enhance friendly exchanges in order to promptly shareinformation and raise the effectiveness of cooperation programmes.

The Hanoi youth union will hold annual training courses for youngLao cadres and facilitate economic links between the two cities’enterprises run by young entrepreneurs.

In July, theHanoi union will send IT experts to Vientiane to help its youngcadres run a website that was established with the support of theVietnamese side in 2012.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
