Hanoi (VNA) - All 48 students of the Hanoidelegation to the Challenge for Future Mathematicians (CFM) 2018 have securedindividual and team prizes.
The event ran in Indonesia from October 27 to 30.
Accordingly, the young mathematicians from the capital cityof Hanoi obtained seven gold, 16 silver, 20 bronze, and 5 consolation medals inthe individual category. Meanwhile their teamwork brought in one champion honour,four fist and four silver prizes.
The achievement was the highest recorded among participatingcountries at the competition.
Challenge for Future Mathematicians is an internationalcontest for students from grade 3 to 8. Since 2014, it has annually been heldin alternating countries.
Last year, Vietnam won three gold, 11 silver and 24 bronzemedals at the event.-VNA
The 53rd International Maths Olympiads (IMO) got underway in Mar del Plata of Argentina on July 9, with over 500 competitors from 100 nations and territories, including six from Vietnam.
