During 2015, the city aims to have 90 percent of its communes, wardsand town meeting national standards in terms of health care, whileupgrading existing medical stations.
More policieswill be applied to attract qualified doctors and medical workers to workat communal-level health care stations, increasing service quality atthese facilities.
The city health care sector willalso strengthen inspection and monitor of the implementation ofprofessional regulations, thus reducing mistakes and errors.
Particularly, the family doctor model will continue to be expanded atgeneral clinics and health care stations, with the goal of having atleast one family doctor department at each health care centre.-VNA
Vietnam now boasts a nationwide healthcare network with 1,665 hospitals, 384 of which are non-public, supported by local commune- and ward-level stations. At the end of 2024, hospital bed capacity reached 34 per 10,000 people, slightly above the global average.
