Water plants are forecast to supply 900,000-910,000 cubic metres perday, falling 40,000-60,000 cubic metres short, Deputy Director of theConstruction Department’s Water Drainage Management Board Le Hong Quantold a meeting in Hanoi on May 5.

The departmentwill ask water plants to be fully operational, reach their maximumcapacity and upgrade water drainage systems.

General Director of Hanoi Clean Water Company Nguyen Bao Vinh said hiscompany built the 10,000-cubic-metre Dong My water pumping station andrestored the Bac Thanh Long-Van Tri facility with a designed capacity of50,000 cubic metres per day.

He added that construction on another water plant on the Red River is expected to start this year and conclude in 2019.-VNA
