Hanoi’s Department of Public Security began bike patrol in urban districts in the city on a trial basis since August 12.

Seventy two Thong Nhat-branded bikes, which are specially made for the purpose, were handed over to the police force at 12 wards in 12 urban districts, each ward gets six bicycles.

The bicycles are painted green, the same colour as the uniforms of the local police force.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
