Hanoi Opera House to welcome visitors

Hanoi Opera House is scheduled to open for tours from June 2017, allowing domestic and international tourists to learn about Vietnam’s history, architecture and art.

Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi Opera House isscheduled to open for tours from June 2017, allowing domestic and internationaltourists to learn about Vietnam’s history, architecture and art.

The move aims to preserve traditional art andculture as well as developing tourism, according to the Ministry of Culture,Sports and Tourism.
It will serve visitors seven days a week, withvisitors able to learn about history and architecture, enjoy art performances,and visit the VIP room of the theatre and the display room.

Up to 20 people can visit the theatre at a time,with art performances lasting about 80 minutes.

Additionally, the Department of Performing Arts willhost three art programmes staged by the Vietnamese music song and dancetheatre, the Vietnamese classical drama (Tuong) Theatre, and the Vietnamesecontemporary art theatre.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourismwill support Hanoi Opera House to open tours and popularize the service amongtravel companies and hotels.

Built between 1901 and 1911 by the Frenchcolonial administration, Hanoi Opera House holds historical, architectural, andartistic values.

The theatre is historical evidence of thecapital’s cultural and social development in the colonial French period(1857-1945).

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
