At a working session with a delegation of economic officialsand parliamentarians of Germany in Hanoi on March 25, Chairman of the HanoiPeople’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung briefed his guests on the socio-economicdevelopment of the capital. He also pointed to challenges facing the city suchas water pollution, air quality, traffic congestion and poor urban rail structurewhich need cooperation from other countries to address.
In the time to come, Hanoi authorities are ready tofacilitate to operation of German companies and hope to continue coordinatingwith the German embassy in holding German cultural exchange programmes in thecity so as to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation in various fields.
German Deputy Ambassador Wolfgang Maig said German businesscommunity is very attentive to the investment and trade environment in Hanoi.
Meanwhile, member of the German parliament Mark Hauptmannsaid the German side is eager to cooperate with Hanoi, particularly in thefields of health care and provision of waste water treating equipment.-VNA
