Hanoi hopes to foster cooperation with Belgian firms

Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has told Belgian Ambassador Jehanne Roccas that capital the city is keen on fostering partnership with Belgian enterprises in various fields, especially construction and health care.
Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung hastold Belgian Ambassador Jehanne Roccas that capital the city is keen on fosteringpartnership with Belgian enterprises in various fields, especially constructionand health care.

The city has invested 6 million USD in 2016 in a project torestore the Thanh Long royal citadel with the engagement of Belgium’s Boydens Engineering company, he notedduring a meeting with the Belgian ambassador in Hanoi on December 20, which was also attendedby two Belgian construction and architecture firms of Boydens Engineering andVK.

It is considered one of the city’s major projects, aiming toturn the site into a tourism centre of Hanoi,said Chung.

He revealed that Hanoihas also prepared resources for the project in the 2016-2020 period, added thatit will re-launched in January 2017.

Ambassador Jehanne Roccas conveyed her confidence that theBelgian firms will show strong performance in cooperation projects with Hanoi.

She expressed her hope that Hanoiwill support the project to establish the first European university in the cityand Vietnam.

The Hanoi leader pledged thatthe city will help seek suitable locations for the project, adding that Belgiancompanies can also join a number of local projects in health care as Hanoi is planning theconstruction and upgrade of a number of hospitals to European standards.

He affirmed that the city is encouraging the involvement of societyin the health care sector, adding that projects to build a heart and pediatricshospitals have been designed.-VNA
