Hanoi gears up for 80th National Day celebrations

The celebrations will feature a military parade, along with a wide range of cultural and artistic performances honouring the country’s rich history and culture, with a special arts programme slated for the evening of September 1.

Hanoi (VNA) – 🍰The capital city is undertaking comprehensive preparations for the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025), with a grand ceremony and military parade scheduled to take place on the morning of September 2 at Ba Dinh Square and along major central streets.

At a recent meeting of the organising committee, chaired by Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Pham Xuan Tai reported that around 40,000 participants are expected, including guests, marching units, and members of the public. The large-scale, nationally significant event is receiving close attention from the Party and State leadership as well as central agencies. The celebrations will feature a military parade, along with a wide range of cultural and artistic performances honouring the country’s rich history and culture, with a special arts programme slated for the evening of September 1.
The organising board has rolled out 10 key task groups, including the design and installation of display models, security arrangements, environmental sanitation, and medical preparedness. Free drinking water stations and designated rest areas will be provided for the public and visitors.

Thanh stressed the importance of early and proactive planning, particularly in terms of security and traffic safety. Security measures will be tightened, with close coordination between police, military, and relevant agencies to ensure the event’s absolute safety. /.
