Hai Duong okays 1 trillion VND waste-to-energy plant
The People’s Committee of the northern province of Hai Duong recently granted approval for the investment of a waste-to-electricity plant in Luong Dien commune, Cam Giang district.

Hai Duong (VNA) – The People’s Committee of the northern province ofHai Duong recently granted approval for the investment of a waste-to-electricityplant in Luong Dien commune, Cam Giang district.
The project will be developed by a joint venture between Chinese United ExpertInvestments Ltd and Au Viet Resource and Environment JSC at a total investment ofmore than 1 trillion VND (44 million USD) in an area of 10 hectares.
Upon completion, the plant, which is equipped with European advancedtechnologies, will treat 250 tonnes of unsorted daily waste per day and nightin the first phase (2020) and 500 tonnes in the second phase (beyond 2020).
It will produce 9-10 megawatts of electricity and other side products such asunbaked brick and other building materials from ash.
Localauthority required the investor to complete relevant procedures in land andenvironment protection. In the next 18 months, the investor is required tobuild plant and support facilities as well as install equipment and machines tobegin trial operation.
The plant should be put into operation after 24 months since the province approvedthe investment proposal.-VNA
