Aeon Global Merchandising Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of Japanese retailer AEON Group, plans to export about 30 tonnes of fresh lychees to Japan this year, up 120% from last year’s figure, according to the company’s representative.

The second fruit and farm produce week kicked off in Hanoi on June 11 with the participation of over 20 cities and provinces nationwide.

Farmers in the northern province of Hai Duong have been thrilled at the news that Vietnamese lychees are to be exported to Japan. They called for support to take advantage of the opportunity.
