Hai Duong (VNA)💮 – The northernprovince of Hai Duong and the Lao province of Vientiane have agreed to boostcooperation in party building, education, health care, investment – trading,agriculture – forestry, culture – sports and tourism from 2017 -2022.
A deal to this effect was signed by Chairman ofthe Hai Duong People’s Council Nguyen Manh Hien and Secretary of the PartyCommittee and Governor of Vientiane Province Vidong Xayasone in Hai Duongon August 23.
The two sides agreed on delegation exchanges tosupport each other in building party and cadres’ capacity. Hai Duong willreceive 10 high school graduates from Vientiane and teach Vietnamese beforesending them to provincial universities, while Vientiane will receive and teachLao language to five from Hai Duong, so they can study the literature of Laos.
Hai Duong will also host five to ten healthworkers from Vientiane province and provide them on-the-job training at localhospitals for three to six months.
The two sides agreed to enhance information exchangeon investment environment and help investors from each side access the information.Trade promotion will also be fostered, particularly via the operation of theVientiane – Hai Duong, and the Hai Duong - Vientiane Centres.
They also agreed to boost exchanges inagriculture – forestry and focus on culture, sports, and tourism exchangeactivities to introduce the tradition and the beauty of each nation to theother, aiming to lure more visitors to each locality. The two leaders briefed each other on thesocio-economic development of their respective province and reviewed theimplementation of the cooperation agreement from 2014 – 2017, agreeing tocontinue consolidating friendship and cooperation from 2017 – 2020.
Hai Duong and Vientiane provinces established afriendship 33 years ago, with the Vietnamese locality investing more than 9billion VND (396,000 USD) in projects and cooperation programmes in Vientianeprovince over the past three years.-VNA
