Ha Tinh reburies Vietnamese martyrs repatriated from Laos

Ha Tinh (VNA) – A ceremony was held in Huong Sondistrict, the central province of Ha Tinh to commemorate and rebury remains ofsome volunteer Vietnamese soldiers fell down in Laos.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ha TinhPeople’s Committee Dang Quoc Vinh showed gratefulness to heroic martyrs whoshed blood for the Vietnam-Laos solidarity.

Vinh thanked the Lao side for coordination and support insearching, repatriating the remains of the martyrs to their homeland.

Earlier on May 18, a requiem for the martyrs was held in HaTinh.

In the dry season of 2016-2017, Ha Tinh team for searchingand repatriating martyrs’ remain brought home 12 sets of remains of martyrsfrom Laos.

Since 1999, Ha Tinh has repatriated 750 sets of remains ofVietnamese martyrs from Laos to rebury in Vietnam, including 503 sets fromBolykhamsay, 118 from Vientiane capital city and 129 from Vientianeprovince.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
