Ha Nam(VNA) – The “Korean Cultural Day in Ha Nam” programme washeld on April 7 evening in the Red River Delta province of Ha Nam which is hometo 111 businesses from the Republic of Korea (RoK).

The event wasco-organised by the People’s Committee of Ha Nam province and the People’s Councilof Gyeonggi-do province of the RoK, featuring special art performances stagedby artists from both sides.

In his remarks,Pham Sy Loi, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman ofthe provincial People’s Council, said the RoK enterprises make up more thanhalf of total foreign direct investment (FDI) firms in the province.

They havecontributed remarkably to the province’s socio-economic development, he noted.

Loi said theprogramme is of significance as it helps realise cooperation contents betweenHa Nam and Gyeonggi-do, expressing his belief that the relationship willprosper in the time ahead, with regular economic and cultural exchanges.

Yung Ki Yul,Chairman of the Gyeonggi-do province People’s Council, called on Ha Namprovince to create more favourable conditions for RoK firms and businesspeople,including those from Gyeonggi-do, to invest in the locality, while intensifyingeconomic, cultural and social cooperation between the two provinces.

At present, theRoK is the biggest foreign investor in Ha Nam province with 111 projects. Ofthe total, 13 with a total investment of 663.97 million USD, accounting for49.12 percent of the capital, are run by enterprises from Gyeonggi-doprovince.-VNA
