Ha Giang exhibition on seas, islands, naval soldiers

Ha Giang (VNA) – An exhibition featuring Vietnam’s seas and islandsand naval soldiers opened in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang onAugust 1.

On display are nearly 300 documents, photos, maps and warshipmock-ups reflecting outstanding feats of arms of the Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN)and the progress of building a regular, elite and modern navy.

In addition, Ha Giang introduces at the exhibition manyphotos and documents highlighting the province’s activities to protect nationalborder, sea and island sovereignty, its people’s sentiments towards people andsoldiers on Truong Sa archipelago and other islands nationwide.

Trieu Thi Tinh, deputy director of the provincial Departmentof Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the exhibition offers a chance forlocal Party Committee, authorities and people to understand more about theheroic tradition and feats of arms of the VPN in the past struggle for nationalliberation and the current nation building and safeguarding, thus helpingeducate patriotism among locals.

On this occasion, the VPN’s Political Department presenteddocuments on Vietnam’s seas and islands as well as the navy to the Ha Giangprovince Museum in order to help serve the dissemination work.

The exhibition will remain open to visitors until August3.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
