Gov’t issues decree on education linkage with foreign partners

Hanoi (VNA) – The Government has recently issuedthe Decree No.86/2018/ND-CP regulating foreign cooperation and investment ineducation, including education linkage with foreign partners.

Specifically, private kindergartens and schools in Vietnam couldlink up with legal and accredited educational establishments abroad.

Their integrated curricula must be approved by the authorizedagency, and the Minister of Education and Training will issue specificregulations on the integration of domestic and foreign curricula. Domestic andforeign teachers are required to have sufficent qualifications.

The examination and recognition of graduation must be inline with Vietnamese and foreign countries’ laws. Graduates of integratedcurricula at senior high school must be granted with graduation certificate ofboth Vietnam and the foreign country.

The education linkage programme will be valid for five yearsand may be extended with each extension not surpassing five years.

The Decree also regulates extension or adjustment ofeducation linkage, enrollment suspension, responsibilities of partiesconcerned.
