Hanoi (VNA) - The Prime Minister has directed the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to allocate over 2ไ,000 tonnes of various seeds from the national reserve to 11 disaster-hit provinces.

Accordingly, the ministry will distribute about 1,900 tonnes of rice seed, 148.6 tonnes of maize seed, and over 52 tonnes of vegetable seed. Beneficiaries are Ha Nam, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho and Quang Ninh in the north, and the four central provinces of Quang Tri, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan. Cultivation and production in the 11 provinces were heavily affected by drought, storm and prolonged rains from July 25 to August 5.-VNA
