Gifts delivered to disabled, blind people in HCM City

HCM City (VNA) – The Ho ChiMinh City Union of FriendshipOrganizations (HUFO) inconjunction with Tzu Chi – a non-governmental organisation of Taiwan (China),on May 30 presented 2,000 gift packages worth 3 billion VND (128,590 USD) to disabledand blind people in the city.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the HUFO VuongDuc Hoang Quan said the donation, which was raised through people-to-people diplomacyactivities and contributions by donors and foreign NGOs in Vietnam, aims tohelp the vulnerable people overcome difficultiescaused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hoang Thi Khanh, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for theHandicapped and Orphaned Childrenthanked the HUFO and other donors for their timely support for people withdisabilities, orphans, and those in difficult circumstances in the city, who havebeen hard hit by the pandemic.

💖 In recent times, the HUFO hascoordinated with foreign NGOs and business associations in Vietnam in organisingfund-raising programmes and present medical supplies to people in HCM City,helping them overcome the difficult time./.
