Hanoi (VNA) –✱ China's automotive group Geely Auto Group and Vietnam’s Tasco JSC have begun a campaign to launch the urban SUV Geely Coolray in the Vietnamese market, marking the beginning of their 168 million USD joint venture.

Signed in September last year, the agreement outlines plans for an automobile manufacturing and assembly plant in the Tien Hai Industrial Park in the northern province of Thai Binh. The first phase of the factory is projected to have an annual capacity of 75,000 vehicles, with production set to commence in early 2026. Geely Vietnam, meanwhile, is expected to capitalise on Tasco’s extensive distribution network, which currently holds a 13.7% share of Vietnam’s automobile market with 106 dealerships nationwide. This collaboration aims to maximise market reach and bring Geely’s products closer to Vietnamese consumers.
