Soc Trang(VNA) – Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Fatherland FrontCentral Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha on April 10 visited and congratulated Khmer people inthe southern province of Soc Trang on their traditional New Yearfestival Chol Chnam Thmay.

Speaking at the event,Ha expressed her delight at the local development, with the rate of poor Khmerhouseholds brought down to about 4.5%.

She wished allBuddhist monks, nuns and Khmer people in the province a happy New Year andbelieved that they will uphold the tradition of patriotism and join hands with local authorities and residents toaccomplish socio-economic tasks this year.

On the occasion, shepresented 100 gifts to local Buddhist dignitaries and reputable persons in the Khmercommunity.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
